Pupusas are thick corn tortillas stuffed with cheese, beans, or pork cracklings. They are El Salvador’s national dish and trace their roots back to the Indigenous Pipil cuisine.

Ingredients:
- 2 cups corn flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup grated cheese
- ½ cup refried beans (optional)
- Salt to taste

Preparation:
- Mix the flour with water and salt until you get a soft dough.
- Form balls, flatten them, and fill with cheese or beans.
- Seal and flatten into a tortilla shape.
- Cook on a hot griddle until golden on both sides.
