27 Oct DIY Goat Milk Soap Recipe
Making your own goat milk soap is a wonderfully relaxing and rewarding DIY project. This gentle soap is rich, moisturising, and perfect for sensitive skin — and it looks beautiful too, especially when decorated with dried lavender.

You’ll need:
- Soap moulds
- 1 lb goat milk soap base
- 1 tsp essential oils
- Optional: a little shea butter
- Spray bottle with 99% isopropyl alcohol
- Dried lavender buds

Steps:
- Cut the soap base into 1-inch cubes and place them in a microwave-safe bowl with a pouring spout. Add shea butter if desired.
- Microwave in short 15–20 second intervals, stirring gently between each round, until just melted. Avoid overheating, as this can affect texture.
- Once melted, stir slowly to prevent bubbles. Add your essential oils — keeping total liquid additions under 2 teaspoons per pound of soap base.
- Pour the mixture into your soap moulds and lightly spritz the surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove any bubbles.
- Sprinkle dried lavender buds or other herbs on top for a decorative finish.
- Leave the soap undisturbed for 4–6 hours, or longer if the air is humid, until fully solidified.
- Once firm, remove from the moulds and wrap tightly to prevent glycerin dew.

Each pound of soap base makes around four creamy, fragrant bars — perfect for everyday use or as a charming handmade gift.
